George Osborne's 2013 Budget announcement yesterday, has raised the threshold for elderly care support allowing people to retain more of their lifetime savings to pass down through their will, explains Ruth Baker in our wills, probate & trusts team.

We are supporting Cheltenham Animal Shelter by helping them raise much needed funds through a purrfect will campaign.

We are supporting Gloucester Cathedral during its 'Make A Will Fortnight' running from 1st-12th October to help encourage people to make a basic will or update an existing will free of charge.

In July, the distinguished economist Andrew Dilnot published his report into the best way to fund care for people in old age. We look at the financial implications of nursing home costs and what that might mean in terms of arranging your affairs for the longer-term.

The principle that you can leave your estate to whoever you like has been undermined in a shock decision by the Court of Appeal.
