Taking to the airwaves for Cobalt's 'Make a Will' campaign

06 March 2025

In support of Cobalt’s Make a Will month, our wills, trusts & probate team is once again donating their time throughout April to write or update a straightforward will in exchange for a donation to the medical charity.

Over a number of years, the scheme has raised over £130,000 towards funding research and prevention, state-of-the-art scanning and diagnosis, specialised nursing posts and cancer facilities for the NHS. This year marks 14 years since the start of the ‘Make a will’ campaign and 12 years since Willans first started supporting Cobalt.

Appointments for the ‘Make a will’ campaign are limited, and interested clients will be required to complete a detailed questionnaire before their application can be processed. Providing they meet the scheme criteria, the service for making or updating straightforward wills with our wills, trusts and probate lawyers is free of charge, save for a donation to Cobalt.

Our solicitor Leah Vincent and Cobalt’s Louise Cook recently took to the airwaves to discuss the importance of making a will with BBC Radio Gloucestershire’s Nicky Price. You can listen to the interview on the soundbite below:

Talking about Willans’ participation in the scheme, partner and head of our wills, trusts and probate team Simon Cook said: “We are delighted to be supporting Cobalt once again in 2025. We understand it can be an uncomfortable thing to think about but the truth is, not having a will can cause real deprivation, delay and distress for your loved ones when you pass away.”

“We recommend people, no matter what age or stage of life, complete a will to safeguard for the future. Having it drawn up by qualified professionals will ensure that your will is valid and reflective of your wishes.”
