Willans welcomes guests for 2023 festive carol concert

22 December 2023

On Wednesday 20 December, guests from around the county and beyond were welcomed for a fundraising carol concert in aid of our chosen charity of the year, Young Gloucestershire.

Following an absence due to the pandemic, the concert returned for a second consecutive year as staff, clients, friends and supporters of both the firm and the charity flocked to Cheltenham College Chapel to attend one of the biggest nights in the Willans calendar.

Partner Nigel Whittaker introduced the evening before guests joined local choir, Severn’s Eight, for a range of classic Christmas carols. The order of events also saw seasonal readings from Isabel Murton of our real estate team and Young Gloucestershire’s fundraising manager, Karl Gwilliam, before attendees enjoyed a range of festive treats.

A selection of prizes were also kindly donated by 15 different businesses, contributing to an exciting raffle that saw all of its proceeds go to charity.

Bridget Redmond, Willans’ managing partner, commented: “The beautiful Cheltenham College Chapel provided the perfect setting for us to get together with clients, friends of the firm and supporters of Young Gloucestershire, to reflect and to celebrate whilst raising money to support the good work of this excellent charity.

“Thank you to all who attended; to the choir, Severn’s Eight (which includes one of our partners), and to all the businesses who supported us by donating gifts for the prize draw.”

Young Gloucestershire have been supporting young people for over 30 years, offering practical ways for those across the county to find confidence and develop the skills they need to improve their lives.

At Willans, we have raised more than £114,000 over the last ten years which has been put toward all sorts of charitable projects throughout Gloucestershire. Our team of more than 100 staff undertake a yearly calendar full of fundraising activities, ranging from large social events to baking competitions and sporting challenges.
