Willans gets wild with sponsorship of Lions at Large

10 June 2024

We are pleased to announce that we will be sponsoring a lion in the 2025 Lions at Large campaign, part of Gloucestershire’s first ever Wild in Art sculpture trail.

Between July and September 2025, the ‘Lions at large’ trail will take place throughout the streets, parks and open spaces of Cheltenham and Gloucester. Willans is the first and currently only law firm in Cheltenham to be sponsoring the campaign.

The campaign is being launched in aid of Cheltenham and Gloucester Hospitals Charity, to help transform cancer care in the region. New proposed facilities in Cheltenham include digital consulting rooms, a state-of-the-art research area and a therapeutic outdoor space. Lions have been chosen for the sculpture trail to reflect the courage of those who are fighting the disease.

To create and deliver Lions at Large, the charity has partnered with Wild in Art, which has put on many other trails around the world. As well as being on display throughout the trail, the lion sculptures will be available to view at an exclusive art selection event in January 2025.

Partnerships manager for Cheltenham and Gloucester Hospitals Charity, Karen Organ said: “We are incredibly excited that Willans LLP has signed up as one of our first sponsors for Lions at Large!

“This exciting trail will be something the whole community can be involved in and it is only possible thanks to incredible local businesses like Willans choosing to be involved. Their part in helping to support new cancer care facilities will remain a lasting legacy in Cheltenham for local cancer patients and their loved ones.”

Managing partner, Bridget Redmond said: “As a firm, we feel it’s our responsibility and privilege to support our local community and this is a very exciting campaign, which will not only directly benefit cancer patients in Gloucestershire, but also helps to boost our business and leisure economies. We are delighted to be involved and look forward to meeting our lion in the new year.”
