Willans LLP is a full service law firm noted for giving expert, practical and personal service to local, national and international clients. We employ around 120 people at our Regency offices, overlooking the park on Imperial Square in Cheltenham.
Our corporate and commercial team is one of the most respected in the county and is rated in prestigious national legal guides The Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners.
An opportunity has arisen for a paralegal to join our friendly corporate and commercial team to provide crucial legal support and handle essential company administration tasks. This is an excellent opportunity to collaborate with experienced professionals in a supportive environment.
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, bright and personable with a “can do” attitude and wants to build their career in this area of the law.
A bit about the role
- Assisting solicitors and partners in corporate and commercial matters.
- Conducting legal research and preparing first drafts of basic documents.
- Assisting with administrative tasks related to company transactions.
- Liaising with clients and maintaining excellent client care.
- Attending client meetings and subsequent preparation of attendance notes.
- Assisting in marketing activities such as writing newsletters and assisting in the preparation of seminars.
- Other ad hoc paralegal/admin duties.
A bit about what we need from you
- You will be proactive, motivated and able to manage your workload effectively. Strong time management is essential.
- You will need excellent communication skills, since the role will involve plenty of contact with clients, professional contacts and other law firms working on transactions.
- You will have excellent IT skills and be able to familiarise yourself with our legal software packages quickly.
- You will also possess strong analytical and research skills.
- You will be a strong team player.
- You will be University degree qualified. A law degree, PGDL or LPC qualification would be highly desirable.
- Previous paralegal experience is not essential, but an ability and willingness to learn is.

Contract: permanent, subject to a satisfactory probationary period
