Investigating remote working: What are the benefits & challenges?

11 April 2025

An investigation into the benefits and challenges of remote working is taking place.

The House of Lords Select Committee on Home-Based Working (appointed on 30 January this year) is currently undertaking a consultation on the difficulties and opportunities that remote/hybrid working presents for both workers and employers.

The consultation’s key areas of focus are on remote/hybrid working’s impact on the productivity of the work force, as well as the impact that it has on the UK economy and society as a whole. The committee is seeking views of individuals and organisations across the board in order to establish if there is a division or consensus of opinion on the topic by way of written evidence.

What should I do?

If you would like to get involved in the investigation, the deadline to submit your evidence is 10am on Friday 25 April 2025 and can be done here.
