The 'one lawyer two client' approach to divorce

12 November 2025

In this video, hear from Willans’ head of family law, Sharon Giles as she introduces the ‘one lawyer two client’ approach to divorce, which allows divorcing couples to amicably end their marriage with the help of one adviser.

From the introduction and roll out of ‘no-fault divorce’ to online applications and remote court hearings, the recent changes to the divorce process have been introduced to reflect the evolving needs of modern society.

Sharon is one of a handful of practioners to have completed the Resolution Together training, which allows her to offer a joint advice service to couples who don’t want conflict to feature in their divorce.

As part of Resolution’s ‘Good Divorce Week’ this November, the organisation aims to encourage people to have a more positive and less stressful divorce by focusing on clear, non-confrontational methods.

If you and your partner are considering a divorce and believe that a ‘one lawyer, two client’ approach is right for both of you, please get in touch. With professional help and support, you can ensure that all matters arising from the marriage are properly considered and settled.
