We were one of two Gloucestershire-based law firms to advise on a multi-million pound management buyout of CKF Holdings Limited, the holding company of CKF Systems Limited, an established UK robotics and automation supplier which has been operating for over 30 years.
Based in modern manufacturing premises in Gloucester, CKF Systems Limited is one of the largest UK based system integrators, designing and manufacturing robotic systems, automated solutions and conveyor systems.
The management team of CKF Systems Limited were advised by Chris Wills, our head of corporate & commercial, who led the transaction with assistance from corporate solicitor Helen Howes.
Jamie Quinton, Managing Director of CKF Systems Limited, said: “The management team certainly made the right choice in instructing Willans to act on our behalf. This was an easy choice as CKF have a long history with the firm and we wanted to continue the relationship.
“We’d like to thank Chris and the team at Willans for their pragmatic approach and commercially sound advice given to the management team. Their expertise together with hard work and determination ensured the transition ran as smooth as possible”.
Commenting on the deal, Chris Wills said: “Willans’ corporate team were pleased to be able to help advise the management team on the next phase of their journey as they take this state-of-the art company to new levels.”
BPE advised the exiting shareholders in the buyout. The team was led by the firm’s corporate partner, Adam Kean, with support from associate Angharad Doyle and solicitor Rupert Parker.
Adam Kean said “It has been a pleasure to work with Bryan, Paul and Vanessa on the sale of their shares in CKF Holdings. This is a great opportunity for CKF and we are happy to be a part of the company’s success story.”
Bryan Wheeler, Adam’s client said: “The expertise shown by Adam and the team was invaluable throughout this transaction. We completed this buyout during difficult times but BPE navigated us through the whole process with ease”.
