Celebrating 10 years as leading advisors to high net worth individuals

25 July 2025

Two of Willans’ senior partners and our wills, trusts & probate team have been recognised as leading advisors to high net worth individuals in Gloucestershire and beyond.

Rankings released by Chambers High Net Worth guide mark a decade of Willans LLP solicitors featuring in the prestigious legal guide, with partner and head of the wills, trusts & probate team, Simon Cook featuring in every edition since 2016.

Described as having “a high level of expertise along with commercial understanding,” Simon is rated in the top band for his advice on private wealth law in Cheltenham and the surrounding area. He is also praised for being “so friendly and helpful,” and always putting “the client at the centre of his advice.”

Paul Gordon, partner and head of litigation & dispute resolution, has been ranked for the seventh consecutive year for his expertise in private wealth disputes in the South West. Recognised for his “dynamic, no-nonsense approach”, Paul has been acknowledged as “very commercially minded, fantastic in mediation and… great with commercial realities and striking deals.

Our highly regarded wills, trusts & probate team, which along with Simon Cook, includes partners Rachel Sugden, Tom O’Riordan and Laura Stone, was also recognised for its high net worth estate planning advice, and ability to approach “complex cases calmly and methodically.” The guide acknowledges that the team includes “a huge range of experienced team members able to handle the most complex of estates. It has a good mix of young, eager individuals willing to learn and more experienced heads.”

Commenting on Willans’ decade-long streak as leading advisors to high net worth individuals in Gloucestershire and beyond, Willans’ managing partner, Bridget Redmond said: “Featuring in this prestigious guide for ten consecutive years is a remarkable achievement and a true reflection of the exceptional quality of service that Willans provides. I’d like to extend my congratulations to Paul, Simon, and the wills, trusts, and probate team; I’m incredibly proud of the consistently high standard of service, dedication and knowledge they continue to offer our clients.”

Chambers ranks law firms and lawyers worldwide, and its High Net Worth guide is the result of a thorough research process carried out by an independent team of editors. They conduct in-depth interviews with clients and referees to assess performance, and rankings are based on several key factors, including legal expertise, client service, market reputation, responsiveness, and commercial insight.

As well as offering expert legal advice locally and nationally, in 2025 Willans proudly sponsor several community initiatives and movements, including the Lions at Large trail, Gloucester Rugby and Pride in Cheltenham and Gloucestershire.
