I joined the firm 15 years ago and was appointed as managing partner in 2016 (sharing the role with former managing partner Margaret Austen between 2013-2016). Prior to this, I led the firm’s residential property team.
Along with the day-to-day running and strategic management of the practice, my role as managing partner focuses on supporting everyone at Willans to achieve their best. This involves making sure everyone is well-equipped with what they need in order to flourish and make a real contribution to the direction and the development of the firm. I believe that if I look after our lawyers and support staff really well, they will look after our clients really well.
With the demands of the legal industry ever-evolving, we continually review ourselves and our services, and the way in which we deliver them. Outstanding client service isn’t just a goal for our lawyers– it’s an expectation. Everything we do at the firm, both internally and externally, has this in mind.
Although we work with clients all over the world (including international household names and Fortune 500 businesses) another focus area for me is Willans’ contribution to our local community. As a responsible and ethical firm, we know that we have a stake in our hometown’s prosperity. From working collaboratively with local business organisations, the Chamber of Commerce and universities, through to sponsoring local events such as Cheltenham Festivals and the Gloucestershire Business Awards, we recognise our duty to help with efforts to put Gloucestershire on the map.
