What is the latest legal position on prenuptial agreements?

Prenuptial agreements have recently been debated in the House of Lords, with calls to reform marriage laws and proposals from the Law Commission to introduce a new form of marital property agreement.

This briefing, published by UK Parliament, sets out the legal status of prenuptial agreements in England and Wales, as well as the proposals to reform the law relating to such agreements and an accompanying commentary.
