We advise national charity in London head office re-location

23 February 2018

Our commercial property team has advised national charity Sue Ryder in the re-location of its head office to London’s Eversholt Street.

The national healthcare charity operates across seven hospices and four neurological centres across the UK, providing hospice and neurological care for people facing life-changing diagnoses. The new head office premises will provide improved facilities for the charity’s fundraising and communications teams and will enable them to work in a more efficient, flexible and effective way.

Alasdair Garbutt, a Legal 500-rated partner who led the negotiations, commented: “We’re particularly proud to work with Sue Ryder, not least because of the location of Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court hospice in Cheltenham which is local to our offices.

“The Eversholt Street premises required significant refurbishment works by the landlord before a new lease was taken by Sue Ryder, and this was a factor that had to be carefully considered in our negotiations and in the documentation.

“We pride ourselves on being thorough and efficient, and have an excellent track record in securing favourable outcomes for our clients – this matter was no exception.

“The charity is a long-standing and valued client of the firm, and we’re delighted to be part of its success story.”

We act for Sue Ryder on all of their commercial property requirements across England and Wales. We count a number of well-known national charities amongst our clients, handling a combined portfolio of over 1,000 premises.

Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court in Cheltenham is the county’s only specialist hospice care inpatient unit.
