Willans supports prestigious business awards

01 August 2016

We are delighted to be sponsoring the Gloucestershire Business Awards this year. The awards celebrate the best of the county’s businesses, discovering new talent and sharing and celebrating stories of successful and established businesses and people.

Established in the county in the 1940s, we are a modern, progressive law firm which is deeply embedded in the business community. We offer everything you would expect from an experienced, high-calibre team, plus an exceptional degree of continuity and personal attention. Our work is partner-driven meaning that the partner clients meet at the outset continues to be responsible for the work.

Our commercial practice helps UK and overseas companies, partnerships and LLPs, professional service organisations, entrepreneurs, family-owned businesses and charities to achieve their goals whilst managing legal risks. Our commercial lawyers, most of whom have City law firm backgrounds, combine technical expertise and business acumen with the ability to get things done.

Willans is one of few firms in the county to be Lexcel-accredited, a Law Society national standard that is awarded only to solicitors who meet the highest levels of management and customer care. The firm and our lawyers are consistently rated year-on-year by independent UK legal guides.

We are proud to sponsor the Digital Business of the Year Award. This is a new category for the Gloucestershire Business Awards which is now in its 19th year.

Gloucestershire is fortunate to have a thriving online community and this award recognises those who excel in all aspects of ecommerce to achieve growth and a strong financial performance through exceptional customer experience.

Paul Symes-Thompson, head of our corporate & commercial legal team, said:

“We are delighted to show our support. The awards are an excellent way for local businesses, no matter how big or small, to be recognised for their efforts.

“We act for a lot of inspirational businesses and people who work or live in Gloucestershire and surrounding areas. In 69 years of trading we’ve had the privilege of being the legal advisers for so many local business success stories; helping many on their journeys from start-ups to becoming well established businesses.”

Finalists will soon be announced, and winners will be revealed at a prize giving ceremony and awards gala evening on 6 October.
