Willans plays vital role in biggest UK exhibition of contemporary sculpture

20 May 2014

The biggest names in contemporary sculpture are coming together in one of the largest exhibitions in the UK at Gloucester Cathedral.

Crucible 2 will display 100 sculptures by many of Britain’s most renowned sculptors and internationally famous artists and Gloucester Cathedral will provide the magnificent setting. Sculptures will be placed throughout the building and the grounds and the exhibition will open on 1st  September and run until 31st October.

Helping to make this exhibition a reality is Crucible 2 lead sponsor Willans LLP, a leading Gloucestershire law firm and long supporter of the arts in the county.

Margaret Austen, partner of Willans LLP said:
“We are pleased to be able to play a part in helping to bring this internationally recognised 8 week exhibition to Gloucester Cathedral. Crucible 2 promises to be even larger, and more successful, than its predecessor, which saw more than 135,000 people visit the Cathedral in 2010.

“This year marks the centenary of the birth of renowned local sculptor Lynn Chadwick. His headline exhibition sculpture will be positioned just outside the north porch and we are thrilled to be sponsoring it.”

The exhibition will be completely free of charge, so everyone can enjoy and experience some of the most exceptional sculpture produced in the past 50 years.
