Client feedback helps us to achieve strong rankings in national legal guide Chambers & Partners
National independent legal guide Chambers and Partners has recently published this year’s results, commending us for our family law, corporate & commercial, agriculture & estates and commercial property services, along with individual recommendations for a number of our lawyers.
For the fourth year running, our divorce & family law team has been awarded a top-tier ranking for the ‘Cheltenham and surrounds’ area, with sources describing the team as “efficient, helpful and businesslike…they got that balance very well.” Department head and collaborative lawyer James Grigg, who advises on financial remedy and private children matters, is highlighted as a “hard-working and very solid” practitioner.
Our corporate & commercial team, which represents both domestic and international clients in a wide range of transactional work, has been recognised for its strength across a number of sectors with a tier two ranking. Department head Paul Symes-Thompson is recognised as having “a very good reputation for handling tricky deals”. Also achieving a tier two ranking is the agriculture & estates team, led by “good, sound lawyer” Robin Beckley. The guide quotes a client who praised the team’s "tenacity, thoroughness and ability to provide sensible practical advice."
Willans’ commercial property team, which has “significant experience acting for well-known clients in the retail sector” and “demonstrates extensive expertise in advising charities on their property needs”, retains its ranking, with partner Susie Wynne praised for her “extremely thorough and patient” approach.
The “well-regarded” Matthew Clayton in the firm’s employment law team is also noted for his expertise, with a client quoted as saying: "Matthew's knowledge is unquestionable and his ability to relate to each business is fantastic."
Managing partner Bridget Redmond commented: “We’re delighted to achieve another strong set of rankings in Chambers and Partners, a legal guide that is recognised across the globe. It re-affirms that, when it comes to the way we look after our clients and the technical capabilities of our lawyers, we’re more than a match for many of our larger competitors.
I am proud that our exceptional lawyers and their departments have been recognised in such a prestigious guide. We are grateful to all of the clients who provided such superb feedback.”
Chambers and Partners has a team of over 170 researchers who conduct a series of interviews to obtain objective feedback from clients and other firms’ solicitors.
