New business partnership shares common environmental ground

22 January 2014

We have appointed Gloucestershire-based sustainability veteran Commercial Group as our new office supplier who will also help us improve on our environmental programme.

Commercial began its own green crusade in 2006 and has, since that time, supported over 250 environmental projects with customers nationwide. For us, working with a local business that could provide that added, environmental, dimension to its service made all the difference.

Bridget Redmond, partner at Willans explains: “Appointing Commercial, based in Leckhampton, was an easy choice. Gloucestershire is a great place to do business and we are committed to supporting local businesses.

“We have had a CSR policy in place for some time but are always looking at ways to improve. By using Commercial for our weekly deliveries, we are reducing our carbon footprint by 80%. It is great to be working with an innovative, forward-thinking business that has proven what can be achieved when a successful company puts sustainability at its heart. ”

Partnering with Commercial will enable us to save more than 27% on our office supplies cost and receive additional support in reigniting our environmental programme, starting with deliveries using hydrogen power.

“We are thrilled to be working with Willans,” explains Commercial’s Environmental Strategist, Simon Graham.

“The firm has made significant strides with CSR and it will be a pleasure to help the Willans team take their ideas to the next level.”
