Celebrating our county’s business talent at the 21st Gloucestershire Business Awards

12 October 2018

We were delighted to attend the Gloucestershire Business Awards last night, which is now in its 21st year of recognising our county’s finest business talent.

Once again the firm was proud to sponsor the ‘Family Business of the Year’ award. This category was open to companies large and small across the county, in which founding families are still significantly involved.

The winners were Cheltenham-based company Datasource Computer Employment Ltd, a specialist supplier of I.T and technical professionals to support high profile projects.

Director Lindsay Babbage commented on the win: “We’d like to thank everyone who was involved with the judging, filming, hosting and organising the event.

“I’m so proud for Datasource to have won Gloucestershire’s Family Business of the Year 2018. It’s an outstanding achievement, which marks the hard work that we all put into the business every single day.

“The team that I have are amazing, and I respect every single person for their contribution to our success. It means the world to us to have won!”

Chris Wills, corporate & commercial partner at Willans, presented the award to Datasource in front of over 700 attendees at last night’s ceremony at The Centaur, Cheltenham Racecourse. He was also a member of the judging panel.

He said: “As someone who is new to the county, being involved in the judging process alongside the other panel members offered me an invaluable snapshot of the diverse range of successful businesses that Gloucestershire has to offer.

“The calibre of the entries showcased the strength and depth of Gloucestershire’s business offering in a wide variety of sectors, and it was particularly encouraging to see the number of businesses who are exporting their products and their services outside of the county and, indeed, the country.”

We would like to congratulate not only Datasource, but also category finalists Truturn Precision Engineering and Gloucester Carpet Outlet. If you would like to learn more about the finalists’ businesses, watch the video below.
