Our corporate & commercial team act for leading Gloucestershire clinic in business sale

24 April 2018

Cheltenham’s Regency Clinic has joined The Medical group of primary healthcare clinics, in a deal on which our corporate & commercial team advised.

Legal 500-rated corporate & commercial partner, Paul Symes-Thompson and solicitor Sophie Martyn have advised the Regency Clinic on the sale of its business to The Medical – owner of a portfolio of primary healthcare clinics across the UK. Demonstrating Willans’ multi-disciplinary approach, commercial property partner Susie Wynne advised on the new lease and other property aspects, and solicitor Jenny Hawrot provided advice on employment law aspects.

Former owner Rob Grace will continue to be involved with the development of the clinic under The Medical, contributing knowledge and experience from his 18 years’ clinic ownership. A qualified Dr of Chiropractic, he built up the practice to become one of the region’s leading multi-disciplinary health clinics, attracting a widespread, loyal client base.

He commented; “Despite taking a step back from management, I will continue to be involved with the development of the clinic under The Medical contributing knowledge and experience from my 18 years clinic ownership.  One of my business values has always been to put my patients first, delivering exceptional treatment and service. I feel confident that under the care of The Medical, they will continue to offer this and more!

So, for the clinic’s future, it is onward and upward, and as always, we look forward to continuing to give you and all our patients quality care and excellent service.”

He added; “Paul and the team involved at Willans were professional, thorough and clearly experts in their field. We felt confident with their guidance through the whole sale process.”

Our corporate & commercial lawyers ensured the transaction ran smoothly. Paul Symes-Thompson, corporate & commercial partner, added; “It was a pleasure to act for Rob in the business sale. We wish him and his team all the best for the future and look forward to hearing about his continued success”.
