Law firm gears up to help paint the town green to celebrate Cheltenham Festival of Cycling

16 August 2017

Our lawyers have swapped pens for paintbrushes in support of the inaugural Cheltenham Festival of Cycling.

As supporters of the council-organised festival, our firm is displaying a bicycle on the railings outside our reception, painted an eye-catching shade of lime green, as part of the festival’s bike trail around Cheltenham.

On Saturday 9 September the OVO Energy Tour of Britain comes to Cheltenham. This famed race will see 120 cyclists pedal past some of the town’s famous landmarks and along the historic Promenade with the finish line of stage seven of the tour being alongside Imperial Gardens, opposite the firm’s offices.

Managing partner Bridget Redmond commented:

“It is a pleasure to be backing the inaugural Cheltenham Festival of Cycling as part of the penultimate stage of the OVO Energy Tour of Britain. As a responsible and ethical firm, we have a stake in the town’s prosperity and a duty to help with efforts to put Cheltenham on the map.”

“An initiative that not only encourages the community to get active but also boosts footfall and tourism in the town centre is one we are very happy to support.”

Tracey Crews, council project sponsor of Bloor Homes Cheltenham Festival of Cycling said:

“I’m delighted to see Willans solicitors supporting our festival in such a fun way. Local businesses and communities will no doubt benefit from this event, not only on the day itself but also the post-event legacy plan. From painting bikes to coordinating window displays there really are some inexpensive but effective ways to get involved.”

If you fancy exploring the bike trail, the locations of the 50-odd colourful bikes can be found on the Bloor Homes Cheltenham Festival of Cycling website.
